Jane Two Book Cover revealed
Once, when I was 7 years old, my Grandaddy let me in on a little secret. He just tapped my temple with that giant trigger finger of his and said, “Seedlin’, time you turn the recorder on, ‘cause the important shit start about now. Find a place up there for all’o it… an don’t forget where ya put it.” And he was right. I’ve collected and recorded ever since.
Jane Two will be available everywhere on April 5th.
Reserve your copy now at these links:
And half a lifetime later, for better or for worse, I decided to spend what ended up being 2 years unpacking a few of those things. And when you start cataloguing the “important”, you tend to search for a shield, or at least a shell to place it behind that might offer a bit of protection. But sometimes protection prevents access. So, with my limbs pinned down like a frog in a high school biology class, I await the scalpels. You see, I’ve wrapped it in nothing but paper.
I hope you enjoy the imagery. The final book cover is below.
It’ll all make sense in the end.

I didn’t even consider that you might have “jitters” about writing a novel and putting it out there for all to enjoy. All your written words here and elsewhere on social media have been nothing short of great and fabulous reads. Look forward to ‘Jane Two’ with much anticipation!
Very glad you enjoy. Hope you love Jane Two as well.

Love, Melissa Laura Marchesani
Thank you, Melissa. And thank you for the continued support. I sincerely hope you enjoy it.
Congratulations Sean can’t wait to read it
I can’t wait for this to come out! You are such an amazing story teller, and to have you put some of them down on paper is so exciting! The cover is simple, and I’m sure it tells a story in and of itself. We all love the granddaddy stories, and I get the feeling we are all going to get a little wisdom from Jane Two 🙂
I think the image will swell with every page. And my Grandaddy figures prominently. And… thank you.
I am looking forward to the read. It has been many, many years since our paths crossed in Houston when you dated Pam and we used to hang with Edward. So glad your life has been so blessed.
I love the simplicity of it. I have been looking forward to this book for almost two years now! Ever since you told me you were writing it and it was still a secrettttt!!!! I have to say though, I am beyond excited that the secret’s out and that we’re getting so close to finally reading it!! AHHHH!!! You’re already my favorite writer. This book is going to be amazing, I know it. <3
Thank you, Em’l !!!!
ALSO, don’t be afraid of those scalpels. When people start dissecting this one, they’re only going to find beauty. Lots of it! Not a doubt in my mind.
Hey Sean, can’t wait to get a copy, will you be doing signings? (because that would be cool if you went to bookstores and read bits and then signed copies) :3
Yes, there are already a few places booked in Texas. I’ll know more shortly.
Come to Washington please. <3 😛
I can't do warm sunny places. However if its cold, I could also visit my friend who lives there…so might be ok.
Can’t tell you how sad it is for us in Europe living sooooooo far away from the States!!!
I would so love sitting in a bookstore listening to you reading JaneTwo.
Maybe you can comfort me/us by recording a little video message reading a few sentences…?
Just a hint… Hihi
Because your video messages always make me/us floating thousands of miles above the earth!
Can’t wait to give you a big hug in 31 days!
I’ll be recording the audio version for Jane Two as well.
Thank you so much for recording that!!! I guess I’ll become addicted to this audio book!
So exciting to hear the sound of Grandaddy from you!
Man, I’ve never recorded an audio book… but I’m looking forward to it!
Ooo! I love reading, but that just sounds way better XD. A couple hours just listening to Sean…I’m sold already.
Hope you don’t get sick of my voice!
Sick of hearing YOU – NEVER!!!! And I definitely know which book will be my very first audio book purchase!!!!
Sick of your voice? what a silly thing to say. IMPROBABLE
^ just teasing, of course I mean impossible, but I’d hate to inflate your ego too much 😛
we all know the sound of your voice reverberating through our earbuds will be like music to our ears.
Hold up. You’re doing the audio yourself? It wont just be some random voice? Right on, that could be really cool. I usually avoid audio books because I would rather read than be read to, but this could be the exception.
You´re joking! We won’t. Never ever!!!! We can`t wait for to hear it!
Well, I appreciate that!
100% Agreed 🙂
….on Steffi’s Comment^^
Steffi…Anna…agreed 100% as well And Sean…great you’ll record it! It will be even more special to hear it read by you! You’re such an outstanding storyteller.you could read the phone book of LA and I would listen for hours…so NO CHANCE I’ll get tired of your voice!!
Well, thank you.
The cover…reminds me of everything about my early childhood, growing up on an Air Force Base…that was a mostly happy time for me. I look forward to the read.
I appreciate it!
“It’ll all make sense in the end.”
I find that to be true of most things.
Awesome cover – I am so excited to read this and the BEST thing is it is being released on my Birthday. Definitely know what I’m getting myself this year.

I have a feeling that this is going to be one of those books that no matter how many copies I have, every time I pass it in a bookstore I’m going to want to buy it. I can’t wait to wear out the pages of my first copy. Congratulations Sean.
Thank you… I hope you enjoy!
Looking forward to this so much. Also looking forward to meeting you in London in a few weeks. Much love x
I look forward to it!
Hey Sean, I feel like I should know this, but can you explain the meaning of the title Jane Two? Will I understand with the book?
It’s all explained in the book. The title does not imply that it’s part 2 of something. You’ve missed nothing. I hope you enjoy.
Thanks, it’s been driving me nuts wondering about that.
I can’t wait until it comes out it sounds awesome! Love from Canada!
Thank you. Love back to Canada!

Ah Sean, the cover looks fantastic mate, really excited for you. Just pre-ordered my copy, can’t wait to read it. All the very best and much love from a very cold Leicester in Old Blighty.
Thank you! Tell Leicester I said hello!
Sounds like the perfect birthday present for myself. Congratulations Mr. Flanery! I cannot wait to read this masterpiece. P.S. Maybe you should sign my copy for my birthday gift. 😉
The cover looks great. You took thought in meaning.
Admire that. You just did not shove just any cover there.
You put meaning to.
Very glad you dig!
Yay! So proud of you! I can’t wait to get my hands (and eyes) on a copy. I’ll need to go ahead and build some new bookcases (and reserve a special slot just for Jane Two) looking forward to spring even more now!

Love it, Sean! So excited to read your book!
This looks absolutely brilliant, Sean. Can’t wait to read it

Looking forward to reading it, Sean
And I look forward to hearing your thoughts!
I’ve been waiting for SO long for an actual collection of your wisdom to hold in my hands. Won’t be long now!
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did writing it!
Oh, Sean! I really love the cover!!! I am so excited to read the book! I don’t like that we have to wait to read it, but I know it will definitely be worth it. My copy has already been pre-ordered, months ago I might add. I’m so exited for it, I’m shakin’ in my boots!!!!
Thank you… and very glad!
You’re most welcome!
I can’t wait to read it. So excited for your book to come.
I’m very glad!
I already plan on immediately rereading after the first time through, because I admittedly tend to have things fly over my head and I want to be able to receive the words you’re gifting to us. When someone like your Grandaddy appoints you the beneficiary of their wealth, it’s probably tempting to keep it under lock and key. Thank you for letting us all in on at least a bit of that treasure. I very much look forward to reading and rereading and rereading Jane Two.
I’m honored to have been trusted with it.
Congratulations on this big accomplishment! I am eagerly awaiting to read this and have a feeling it wl be one I can not put down!
I hope you enjoy!
Can’t wait to read it and it’s out the day before my birthday! I’m sure my son will love it too, he still talks about how awesome you were to him at comic con in New Orleans a few years ago!
Give him a hug for me!
Being 14 now I don’t get hugs but saying SPF said so worked! Going to have to use that line more often! Lol

Congratulations on your first book …. ingenious cover! I wish I could read it, unfortunately my knowledge of English very bad!
It would be awesome if it might eventually give Jane Two in a German translation!
Lots of love from germany!!!
I hope it gets translated!
I can’t wait to read this, so awesome!
Excited for the read n awesome it is out on my birthday, Happy birthday to me lots of luv from Canada ox
April 5th… happy birthday!
A novel? I was thinking it’d be a memoir! I have no doubt it will be a great read, your blog always entertains and inspires… If only I can make some time and kick my own ass into gear and write my book, “Memoirs of a Truck Stop Attendant”
If ever I get it done, published or not, I’ll send you a copy!
I was so excited to see an email in my inbox about a new blog post from our Captain! I can’t wait to read your novel. Congratulations on this accomplishment and the cover is great!
Why thank you!
I have maybe..MAYBE read a total of 9 books in my 45 year life span so far. So, I am sure as you can tell, I am not much a reader. I’m more visual. I prefer movies or TV as a form of entertainment / escapism rather than sitting and reading a book.
With that being said, I am gonna buy this book and read it. NOT because of who you are (ok, well maybe a little), but because I have made the decision to make this year a more thinking and introspective year. I want to learn what others have learned and have decided to put pen to paper and share with those who have labored over for their love of writing.
I’ve read other things you have written in your blog. I look forward to getting this in my hands, and hopefully not letting go until the covers and the pages between are reunited together without interruption of a book mark.
Speaking of bookmarks.. Maybe you can make one of you in your Gi or just a pic of you in general for anyone who buys a book?! Just putting it out there.
Good luck with it and Congrats on getting it published.
Thank you… and great idea!
Love the cover and so looking forward to reading the book. Take care!
I cannot wait for your book. Your words are always a breath of fresh air. It’s going to be epic. Congratulations, Sean.
I am just as excited as all of your other #Shine followers! We’re like a big friendly group just starving for your wisdom, stories & most of all kindness. Much love waiting the arrival of Jane Two!
I really appreciate it.
I think this book is going to be incredibly helpful for this particulal year of my life. My dad is currently going through Radiation & Chemo for lung cancer. The things you say are so, so inspiring. #Shine has been of great help to me in the past. And this now, is by far the toughest thing we’ve been through as a family. Thank you from the bottom of my ♡ Sean. I know it will keep my spirits up, therefore helping to keep my parents with a very positive attitude. I really can’t express enough how much your words help. TY! TY! TY!
Can’t wait to get the book, very excited to read it. Love your blog as well. It has got me through several rough days. Thank you.
Very glad. God bless.
Congratulations Sean!! Can’t wait to read your book and hear the audio book!
How exciting! And what an intriguing cover photo; my first pair of Vans in high school were two-toned with a checkered board sole. I wore them constantly, much to my Mother’s chagrin. I can’t wait to read it!
Ya know, I THOUGHT I was excited when Prince Lestat came out. But now I know that was NOTHING compared to how excited I am to read your book. It’ll mean something, definetly teach something and probably leave me with all the good feels. So excited! And I’m doubly excited that you’ll be signing in Texas! And an audio book too! Ugh! Are you trying to kill me? Love from the big D!
Counting down the days until I hold this in my hand and at long last soak it all in! Congratulations Sean!! The cover is great and I’m so excited for you!!
I’m very glad!
I am beyond excited for the release of Jane Two! The book cover is amazing! It has a nostalgic feel to it, which I’m sure was your intention. I love to read, but here lately my reading schedule has tapered off. I’m hoping Jane Two will revive my reading habits. I know it will be an amazing read! I’m definitely looking forward to April! Congrats Sean! So excited for you!
I hope it does too!
Keep us posted if there’s a book signing tour!
So excited for you! I love your stories about your Grandaddy! After reading them I find myself in a state of joyful stillness, pondering all I have read, letting all those bits and bites of pure wisdom sink in, inspiring!!! The fried chicken story and keeping oneself in a state of crisis. That is some serious food for the soul! Thank you so much Sean for all that you do. Congrats! Much love to you and yours. 🙂
They did the same for me. Glad you enjoy.
Lovely that you release it on my daughters 9th birthday! Well planned my friend, well planned!
Man, 4/5 seems to be a popular birthday!!
Haha, I don’t know anybody else with that birthday, but if the book is as wonderful, exciting and fill of surprises like my Vici, I can’t wait to read it!
Well, I’m fairly certain it’s not THAT good, but…
Honored that you would share your stories – Priceless
Honored to have them read!
Great cover. I can’t wait to get this and read it. Your first novel congratulations!! I adore what you share on your blog and I am sure “Jane Two” will be outstanding. I’ll let you know what I think when done 🙂
Sean we wouldn’t EVER get tired of listening to your voice. We love to hear you talk and express about your past stories!: Grandaddy and Reedus!
Well, I appreciate the kind words!
SPF, Every fiber of my being trembles in anticipation of reading Jane Two. You are a precious soul on this earth. Your wit & humor are a relief and an inspiration to me. Thank you, thank you for sharing with us.
Thank you for the kind words… I am beyond flattered.
Congratulations! The cover looks interesting and I can’t wait to read the book! I already pre-ordered. Hope it will be as good as your bog but I have no doubt about that. Great work Sean!
I hope it is!
I’m looking forward to it. Based on how well you write your blog, I think that you’re an excellent writer and I will not only enjoy the story itself, but I won’t have to worry about poor grammatical skills as I have to with so many other “writers”. Best wishes to you, Sean.
Haha! I hope you don’t!
A simple and bold cover. Love it! I am excited to read this. Congrats on completing this novel and getting it published 🙂
Thank you. I hope it’s simplicity doesn’t defy it’s importance. And I hope you love the image even more after “the end”.
You’re welcome! I pre-ordered my copy a little over a week ago and my sister and I are stoked that I am able to get it (we’re sharing it). The Jane Two website is very well done, I enjoyed checking that out. Also wanted to tell you thank you for being such a wonderful inspiration to me and many, many others. I joined the Shining on group on Facebook and was overwhelmed (in a positive way) with the support of the group. I was not expecting that when I joined. You have helped and inspired many great people who have now come together and become supportive friends. Take care 🙂
I’m glad you found it!
Sean, congratulation to your first novel. You’re Amazing. Be yourself, ever. Stay amazing. Excited to see you in London
Thank you… and after this long, there’s no one else I can be!
April can’t come fast enough, wordsmith, no indeed. Very much looking forward to this.
Love the cover.
This was the best news ever on the actual day of my birthday! Thank you, I can’t wait to read it!!
Edited my preorder to include 2 copies, 1 for me & 1 to give away on April 4th! So be ready with a trivia question to make everyone think REALLY hard lol! And when the audio is available, I will have it too, as will many others! Thanks for everything you do for us! 😉
Nice, Heather. We’ll come up with something good!
always enjoy hearing and reading about journeys in life my sneaks are on a telephone wire because I like to converse with people
So do I!
I love all these positive comments! Just goes to show how wonderful the world could be if everyone treated people as you do. Really touches the heart.
Not as much as it touches mine. Truly flattered & honored.
Seventy Five Days and Counting!
That is correct!
Can’t wait to read the book. I’m sure it will be as inspirational as your blogs. Just one question though. Am I gonna need any tissues? Your blog tends to bring me to tears occasionally and I just want to be prepared. God bless and keep you.
If the blog does… then yes.
Well I guess I’ll have to have my box of tissues ready. May I ask one more question please. Is there any advice for someone who desperately wants to write a book but is terrified to do so. May God bless and keep you.
you’ve already satisfied the sole condition… desperately wanting to. Now do it.
I am looking forward to reading your first novel. I know it will be a success. I have enjoyed your blogs so much I was hoping a book would follow! Congratulations! Can’t wait to read it! Just in time for my birthday!
Happy birthday! I hope you enjoy.
Can’t wait to get my hands on this. Or to see you in London next month x
See you there!
Today I found the first review of Jane Two on Goodreads!! Jandra Sutton was lucky to read it in advance. She wrote such a beautiful review! No doubt about every single word. I know the impact of your words, your ability to make me laugh and cry…
After reading this… I’m burning inside! I want to go on that emotional roller coaster… I want to absorb Jane Two!!!!
And I’m curious about the ‘It’ll all make sense in the end.’
Thank you… and it will.
Sean EVERYTHING you do is AMAZING. I love shineuntiltomorrow.com it almost gives me a sense of peace and happiness. I just love to hear about the real world and seeing it through your eyes. It can be intense, heart warming, and so beautiful. So I’m sure this is going to be perfect. Thank you❤️ I need something to take my mind off of recent events, which I won’t bore everyone with.
Well, whatever they are, God bless. And thank you.
Much love. You seriously brighten my day. Someday I hope we run into each other and I would love to find out where you get you’re Inspiration. Even though I’m in Michigan … One can hope.. You truly are just WOW.
Thank you for my smiles.
Thank you for the kind words. I owe you a hug.
Can’t wait to read this with my husband. You are such a talented writer. I look forward to reading this soon.
I’m very flattered. Thank you!
I know I’ve already commented but I’m excited! It’s getting close to release!!! My girls really like the cover too.
Give your girls a hug for me!
Oh you know I will! ❤️❤️
Sean, Im thinking ahead here but I hope Jane Two makes New York’s #1 Best Seller!
“But sometimes protection prevents access.” Yes.
The cover looks great, Sean. I’m really looking forward to reading this and hopefully I’ll be lucky enough to meet you again for a signing. All the best!
I hope so too!
Absolutely awesome Sean! I can’t wait to read Jane Two!!! I know it’s going to be an amazing read. Thank you for sharing a piece of you with us ❤️
I’ve been reading all the love and admiration that we have for you and love that you have taken so much time out of your busy schedule to reply to every single person. You are a good man Mr. Flanery. Maybe it’s the southern boy in ya.
I appreciate it.
Sean, we grew up in the same era in Texas and I can relate to a lot of your imagery and ‘talk’. I so look forward to your book. Hope to meet you someday, till then -keep shining!
Texans are gonna Texan!
This releases the day after my birthday. What a perfect gift, I can’t wait to read it!
Man, lotsa early April birthdays!
So excited to read your book! April can’t come soon enough!
Excited to HAVE you read it.
So excited to read this!! I know its gonna be a best seller! Got mine pre-ordered!
Hope you enjoy it!
Sean, would you love to have Jane Two to become a feature film? And will Scary Boots be your next book?
Check out Flanery’s blog and sign up for his newsletter, they said. It’ll be the best thing you’ve done all week, they said. And you know what, they were right.
Digging your style of writing, sir.
Well thank you very much… and I thank them for telling you!
If you don’t mind me asking, is there any chance you’re headed Down Under this year?
Awesome. I wouldn’t mind keeping up to date with that possibility, who represents you when it comes to appearances and such? If you happen to have a link for them too that would be fantastic.. Sorry about all the questions. I’ll stop annoying you after this. lol
Sean Clark. Conventionallstars.com
Thanks for that! (Nice work on being one of the good guys, laddie. It’s appreciated. – ✌)
Thank you ma’am!
Ha. Charmer. Consider it done. (And thank you.)
Can’t wait to read your book! I find myself being able to relate to much of what you write about and the way you put things into words is sometimes like you could read my own thoughts. Thanks for sharing your talents with us!
I’m very flattered. I hope you enjoy.
i pre-ordered!! from JAPAN! can’t wait!!! BUT, are you making an audio book, too? i want both!! 🙂
Congratulations! One of my New Year’s Resolutions is to read a book a month. I preordered your book, so it holds April’s book slot. Yay!! You are a phenomenal storyteller. I can’t wait to read it. I hope you’ll have a signing near me in Indiana. Best wishes for 2016.
Good resolution! Hope you enjoy!
What are those Pro Keds suspended from yonder flag pole? You have a way with words, Mr. Flanery; I trust I will enjoy it – nothing I’ve read of yours leads me to believe otherwise. Thanks, for your continued efforts; because, I believe if One can….we all could. Holla.
Thank you. It’ll all make sense…
You’re as welcome as the flowers in May.
That sounds like it came from the east coast! Stay warm!!
To be honest, I don’t know which version I’m excited about more — the audiobook or the book itself? All I know is I’m really looking forward to experiencing BOTH. Congrats on getting these stories written & published, Sean!! I’m so happy for you. <3
Thank you. It’s been a long time coming.
It must feel good to see so many people excited about something that’s so obviously close to your heart. Really happy the buzz you’re getting is good.
I’m more flattered every day. Thank you.
Sean, will Houston be the first place to go for the book tour?
Not sure yet. I’ll post dates as soon as they are confirmed. So far, I’ve got Houston, Dallas, Austin, L.A., and Nashville. More to come though!
I so hope you’re able to get a booking somewhere close to me in northeast Oklahoma. But I know these things don’t always go that way because it’s such a rural area–hard to get anything/anyone happening close to me LOL
I’ll find out & keep my eyes open for Ok.
That’s amazingly awesome of you–thank you!!
New Orleans would be lovely.
Well Sean, if you get to Oklahoma, you might as well travel North a little ways and come to Iowa. This transplanted Texan would love to see/meet you!
I’ll see what I can do!
Is there a chance to give you a warm welcome in Europe as well?
Much love from Far Far Away!!!
Possibly! Much MORE love right back!
Would be MORE than amazing to welcome you and #Janetwo here in Europe…we’ll patiently wait for news about your book tour to come!!! Would be a dream for us if you could make this happen!! Tons of love to you…
I’d love it too!
Awesome! Thanks for the info! I can definitely do L.A.! Super excited for you!
I can’t wait! And I’ll be looking forward to the audio as well so we can share the ride to work! Congratulation Sean I’m truly happy for you and looking forward to reading your hearts work!
I appreciate it.
The cover looks great, Sean! Just about to pre-order mine 🙂 I live in Scotland and am not able to make it to WSLondon this time but hopefully I get to meet you in the future to get it signed! <3
I look forward to it!!
Pre ordered, finally. Part of a reading challenge I’m in with some friends calls for a book published this year, a book that’s completely unfamiliar and a book suggested by someone else. It’s possible I might be pushing this one in multiple categories 🙂
I support this. Thank you!

I really know how blessed I am to find that one love and being married for 20 years now. I’ll be prepared with a lot of tissues reading Jane Two!
Grandaddy really deserves a book of its own. I’m pretty sure he’s sitting up there with a huge smile in his face being very proud of you!

I think the cover is AWESOME. You are so insightful. I just love reading you blog. It touches my soul in a way you will never know. Thank you so much. I hope you enjoy… and thanks for giving it 6 days!!!
Ok, I just read every little tidbit of each book review for Jane Two and I’m even more excited to read it! Everyone says such wonderful things! I have a feeling I will have to take a few days out of my masters degree classes to read it before this semester is over. I will not be able to wait until May to read it. ❤️❤️❤️
I appreciate it… but don’t let the grades suffer!
I just bought your book!
Waiting with bated breath!
The “Cover” is Heart Warming!
I’m new to you.
When I first read your blog I thought, “Sean is a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing.”
Someday you should teach “Creative Writing” @ college! You are gifted!
I’m happy for you! You put those wings on and fly!
Thank you for inspiring us.
Well, I am very flattered. Welcome… and I hope you enjoy!

I have been a fan of your blog for about a year now and I am thrilled to read that Jane Two will finally be released. Congratulations on that. Your words have been a great inspiration and I’m sure this novel will have plenty of that. Looking forward to reading it and would love to meet you in person some day. Much love from Miami!
I appreciate it, Zoe!
If you decided to do a book on SCARY BOOTS, make sure you do an Audiobook. You are an awesome storyteller and your hilarious! Can’t wait for part 6. What are you up to with the FRENCH Maid??
Very good idea!
Hallo, Mr Flanery!
I thought for sure I spelt your name right when I tweeted out my s/o about #JaneTwo (https://twitter.com/joriestory/status/696881058097340418) however, I mistook the fact I’ve clearly misunderstood your name since I’ve followed your career! Between Young Indy through The Dead Zone and into Hallmark; somewhere I think I should have known it’s ‘one n’ not two! I do apologise – I would have deleted the tweet but it’s been retweeted 3x and at least, despite the mistake I helped get the word out about the book!
The tweet itself was just an expression of shocked surprise as I hadn’t realised you were writing a novel and how lovely it is that it’s being released this year! Coming-of age stories are the best, they draw you inside an internal journey and an introspective lens on behalf of the character’s journey.
All best to you, and I’ll remember it’s Flanery from now on! 🙂 I do look forward to reading it and seeing how your own living history played a part to inspire the story.
Ah, no problem… and I appreciate the support!
Is the novel a true story?
The answer is inside.
After release, maybe you can open a blog entry for everyone to leave their reviews/thoughts about Jane Two, a place for them to be kept, for you & so everyone can read. They’d always be here for you to look back on, instead of lost in the ‘black hole of the social media feed’ lol, Just a thought (but I REALLY hope you do it)
That’s a great idea! I’ll definitely do that. Thanks!
Awesome! Lots of great things ahead, looking forward to all of it!
An extra blog entry is good! Otherwise I would have left my thoughts here!
Yep. I’ll post in April!
I REEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLYYYYYYY need to READ YOUR BOOK. okay I keep getting reader teased with all these reviews and snippets of your book. I don’t liked being fucking TEASED!!
Weel, I hope it doesn’t disappoint!
Wow! This Cover is beautiful. I’m really looking forward to this book. I hope it also comes in German on the market. If not you must to come to Germany and teach me English. 😉 My english is so bad. I sometimes do not understand you in London 🙁 This story touched me again and again. I can not wait. I wish I could now hold this book in my hands. See you and we read us again. Thank you for everything Sean and always remember Shine…until tomorrow!!! Greeting of Marlene from Germany in the near Stuttgart.
I’m glad you like it. I certainly hope you can get it in German as well!
I hope that too. And if not, I try to read it in English. 🙂 Thank you Sean.
I know you’ve been asked this a million times, so here’s a million & one lol, any news on the book tour dates/cities, when they may be announced?
I’ll post in the next couple of days.
Oh wow, that’s really cool. Have fun with your book tour. I would like to be there, but America is unfortunately to far away.
Well, I hope the book comes to your country!
OMG is this Cover great and beautiful. I hope this book comes in German language on the market. If not you come to Germany and teach me english 😉 JaneTwo is a very good story and this story touched me again and again. I wish i could now hold this book in my hands. I can not wait. Thank you for everything Sean. See you and we read us again. God bless!
Sorry for the double post. My first was for me for days not displayed. I thought this post would not have been taken from my Internet.
You should come to eccc in April with norm, come as an author….though the book doesn’t really fit as a logical reason….I still wanna meet you XD <3
What is eccc?
Emerald city comic con (seattle), sorry I forgot you probably go to so many cons it would be hard to remember all the acronyms.
Ah, copy that!
She means determined: Image EXPO 2016 in Partnership with ECCC. Apparently you can imagine since his book.
April 7 – 10, 2016 | Washington State Convention Center | Seattle, WA
Even more details on what your favorite Creators and Artists will be doing at ECCC 2016 are coming soon.
Ah, thank you!
Just ordered your book for my library system in Essex County!!!
The book will be reaching a whole new audience when it is released!
I saw watched ya on on YouTube recently when you were in London at the Walker Stalker Con. You talked a little bit about your book. You already have another one in the works? It was sorta hard to at the venue even with my headphones on! Haha!
You guys look so relaxed on that stage, I know you’ve done that for years but how have overcome your fear of speaking to large crowds? I have had to do it in the past but only with a way, way…smaller group of people; some of which I know, that makes me nervous as heck!
By doing it… over and over again until you forget what it is that you were afraid of in the first place.
Sean I really hope your coming to St. Louis for your book tour! Please keep us posted for the Pre-order for the Audiobook.
I will keep you posted!
One MONTH to GO for the release of JANE TWO! How do you FEEL?
I’m soo ready to pick up my copy of Jane Two next month. Thank you for everything you have done and helped do.
P.S. Will you be taking pictures with everyone on the book tour?
Of course… if they’d like.
Sean my lovely, will the UK be getting the same release date for the book as the US? also,I am in love with your brain, it makes you so much more than just a very handsome guy.. I hope that came across right as it was a genuine compliment! x
Well, I’m very flattered. … And I believe UK is the same.
Yay! .. I may have got a little over excited a while back and have mine pre ordered, but now my best friend has no excuse!
Awh,any time sir,it’s 1.49am in merry old England (I suppose you would know having lived here a while !)
I’m currently watching suicide kings ,and must say you look just as great at half a hun’red as you did back then..possibly more so ..I’m sure you must have found the fountain of youth !x
Well thank you!
My pleasure Sir! Will you be making any appearances in the UK following the books release? It would be lovely to meet you again when you haven’t lost your voice! Xx
None scheduled as of yet.
Well it would be great to see you back in England at some point , I’m really unwell at the moment, so I wish I had the book to keep me company! not long now,you must be excited !X
Thankyou, you are just the sweetest, kindest man I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting
I’m more convinced than ever now that Jane Two Is Going To turn me into an emotional wreck ..this means two things 1)you’re an amazing writer ,as I have never shed tears while reading a book yet…And 2) you might have made more work for yourself as you may have to plan visits everywhere to give personal Flanery hugs to everyone who reads The book! xx
I’d like that.
You would like to turn me into an emotional wreck with the book? or you would like the personal Flanery hugs for all? Because that second part, you are welcome to anytime sir! xx
I would be honoured to hold you to that!
Thankyou for being such a lovely person, and taking the time to reply to your fans personally,we are so lucky X
Sean I could you advice what do you do when you start feeling stressed out. Because here lately I’ve been stressed and I could use some advice.
I think you meant BJJ… But I’d still like to think you meant something else 0_0
Sean, you mentioned that the Audiobook will be available on April 5th. Will it be available in stores or as a download??? Had to ask.
Very soon as it’s released on April 5th!
Just wanted to let you know that I pre-ordered your book and I am anxiously awaiting delivery. You always have such wonderfully inspiring stories and they always seem to come just when I need a good kick in the ass (such as now). I hope you make it to the Orlando area again soon. I miss you when it’s several years between hugs. Let me know where to look for the book tour. As usual…Love & thanks!
I appreciate it… and I will.
Hi again, I’m glad that I read the later posts! I will be ordering the audio book as well so that I can listen to “Jane Two” while I’m driving in case I can’t find time to devour it in print as quickly as I’d like. I’m pretty much an audio book addict. I just saw that Reedus will be at Orlando Megacon again & I’m hoping to see your name on the list soon. I’ll get my monkey hat ready just in case. I’m finally doing physical therapy so maybe I can make it without falling down this year. Love & hugs!
I just may be! I’ll find out.
Just ordered your book and look forward to reading it. I grew up in Dallas during the 50’s feel this is something I can relate to, only his name was Mike. Hope you can add San Antonio to your tour, love your blog and your movies.
I have to admit, i’m a newbie here. I recently discovered Boondock Saints and have been in love ever since. I started reading about you and your blog and found so much motivation and inspiration.
Especialy your positivity! You are such a positive person and you grab live with both hands.
I immediately regretted that i didn’t ‘meet’ you sooner because i needed your words in my life.
Everything you say makes sence to me and inspires and motivates me! Reading your blog is like someone saying to me “Get the fuck up and go do it”! Pardon my french 😉
Since then i have been going over my bucketlist and thought .. what the hell… just do it!! Like you say “intentions are bullshit”. It is wat you do that matters not what you intend to do! And believe me I am the QUEEN of good intentions 🙂
I have taken on classes and have been working on starting a little business in graphic design, i have started to excersice and have just been much happier in life. I enjoy every moment!
Your positivity motivates me and i just wanted to thank you for that.
THANK YOU SEAN!
Greetings from Belgium
I’m very glad. Welcome!
it’s so nice of you to take time to reply.
I’m glad that you received my thanks, it really means a lot to me because your positivity and drive have encouraged me to do the same!
And your words mean a lot to me. Thank you.
Two weeks today!!! The only time I was more excited was when I met you! X
I hope you enjoy!
I am positive that I will! I will be carrying it everywhere with me I hope that you are well, sending you much love and positivity from the North of England 🙂 xx
Very well… and likewise!

Just out of curiosity, i have always wondered; 90% of the times we see you with the same necklace. A coin/disk on a long chain. What does the inscription say?
All my love – Ann
It’s a Saint Christopher’s medalion.
I can’t wait to read this, Just curious, have you ever read Scratchin’ on the Eight Ball? http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/scratchin-on-the-eight-ball-tom-frye/1103783820?ean=2940148809128 I think you would like it.
I’ll check it out!
7 days!!! I’m so excited I need to squeeze somebody! xx
I’ll take it!
With absolute pleasure Sir! *sending squeezes* I will have to owe you some real ones,if that’s quite alright 🙂 x
Those are special reserved squeezes now, just for you 😉 xx
I can’t believe we are under a week until the novel! It seems like so long since we first started counting down! I’m not sure who should be more excited, me or you!? Xx
Haha I love you! 😀
Then we shall be excited together! 🙂
Sean when will see all the book tour dates on the site?
They are there, and I will update as new dates arrive.

I was hoping to meet you in Chicago, since I’ll be there for 2 weeks, but unfortunately I just noticed you will be there in May… Hoping there will be more opportunities along the way. Good luck on your tour and can’t wait to read Jane Two! Much love.
Thank you, and hope you enjoy when you do!
Hey Mr. Sean!
You should stop for lunch in Memphis on your way to Nashville. Trade you some mighty amazing bbq for a signature in my book. 😛
Hmmmm, good idea!
Jane Two is AMAZING! It made me laugh, it put a smile on my face, it brought tears to my eyes.
Your a PHENOMENAL writer. GREAT JOB! #1 Best Seller (In my book) Its not just about being Best Seller, its a great story to share. I love your Grandaddy! Hes awesome!
The Audiobook was amazing too. Hopefully with the next book, you’ll make another one??
Congrats on this amazing novel! Thank you for sharing your journey with us.
Im glad you love the video. Thank you. That means a lot.
Love you! God bless you!
Note: I have made my reviews on Amazon and GoodReads.
I really appreciate that!
Oh my when you said I may need tissues reading your book….well you sir are no liar. But I must say it was very cathartic that weeping. It was for not only the people in your book but for feelings I haven’t felt in a while. That sense of just wanting to go home again. But when you do you realize that it just doesn’t feel the same. The wanting of your family that’s just not there. I was very young when I lost my mom but the part in Jane Two where you just needed your grandad just sent a shiver through my whole being cause I’ve had moments like that with needing my mom. It is a piece of art to heat will always stick with me. I will recommend it to he ha to anyone and everyone that will listen to me about what a great read it is. I hope one day it meet you again so I can give you a great big hug and a huge thank you for the forgotten memories and feeling. God bless.
I look forward to it!
Sorry for the spelling was crying as I wrote this. Just finished reading.
Sean I love the book. You really talk about going after something you want. Because now I’m going after my photography dreams. So Thank you for writing the book… Can’t wait to meet you in person..
Thank you… and likewise!
Your book is great. Please visit more cities on your book tour next time around.
I was at your talk at Vroman’s last night (I asked you the question about Kevin’s motivations). I meant to tell you what I thought of the book during the signing, but my mind went blank when you recognized the photo I asked you to sign as being from the Boondock Saint’s anniversary party six years ago. With all that you do, how on earth did you remember that? Anyway, Jane Two. It was beautiful, but I was so mad at you for making me cry that much. I’m glad I finished it a couple of days before your talk so I could calm down and process. I didn’t expect it to have such an impact on me. The last 1 1/2 years have been kidn of rough and I’m trying to get things back together. The life lessons from Grandaddy are exactly what I needed. “Winners do quit. They quit doing the shit that makes them lose!” is something I’ve thought about everyday since I read that line. There are more quotes that have resonated with me, but it feels too personal to share. I am astonished at the bravery you showed by sharing so much of yourself. If you we’re sure it mattered, it did to me.
I was very happy to hear about The Boudin Heirloom. I know it’s way down the line, but I expect you’ll be making notes from this book tour on what worked and what to do differently next time. I would urge you to visit more cities. As great as your writing is on its own, holy cow, hearing you talk about made it so much better. Hearing your perspective changed how I looked at some of the events. I drove down from the Bay Area the morning of your talk and then drove back home the next day (today). It was very much worth it to me, but I know I’m in the minority of people that would drive six hours each way. So yeah, more cities. More people need to hear you speak.
Lastly, I’m going to be embarrassed if my email address displays so I’m going to address it. About 20 years ago, I spent the summer between middle school and high figuring out who I wanted to be. I filled a notebook with personality traits and named different combinations of them. I also discovered the Indiana Jones movies and, of course, Young Indiana Jones. I named the best version of myself I could imagine Indy Jane. Variations on that have been my internet handle ever since. So, yeah, you’ve had kind of a big influence on my life. For some reason, it never occurred to me to tell you. Last night, when you talked about reading the comments on your blog, I figured it was time.
Thank you for being you.
Wow, I really appreciate that. Wonderful to see you… and have you drive so far? Thank you.
I have my copy, haven’t had a chance to start reading it yet, but have a question about the book signings… I saw a post that there was to be a signing in Chicago at Book Expo America in May. I went online to look for information and tickets and you’re not listed as being there. I want to make sure I catch you to sign my book since I don’t know if you’ll be at Wizard World this year!
No Chicago, But Philly Wizard for sure!
No book signing in Chicago either??
Not yet, but maybe in the future!
So about Jane Two…
I preordered the kindle version and at 12:01 am Tuesday 5th April 2016 it arrived and I was immediately hooked.
I continued to read over the next couple of days as well as being accompanied by the audio version ( just amazing to hear the story told in your Texan lilt).
I laughed, smiled, sighed and then came the tears, oh so many tears I had to put the book down and remind myself to breath. I now have the hard copy and have once again picked it up to enjoy this story all over again.
It is a story written from the soul and that is clear to see in every page and every chapter. A story that resonates deeply with everyone who reads it.
We’ve seen how those key moments, the kids in the street, the pool side, the flag pole and the all important porch, have shaped you and made you the man you are today.
I am proud to be part of the Jane Two ride and I am excited for the next journey.
Keep up the good, if not exceptional work and I hope to see you soon to get the book signed and make it a treasured item that I own.
I Thank you, with everything in my heart. God Bless. Xx
Thank you so much!
So, about Jane Two…..
I pre-ordered her way back when and could not wait for her to arrive.
On Tuesday 5th April at 12:01am my wait was over, the kindle version had arrived and I was immediately gripped.
I read her over the next couple of days interspersed with your delightful Texan lilt on the audio accompaniment.
Oh, what a ride! Through every emotion I lived Mickeys’ life. Happiness, joy, love and then came the tears – grief, sadness and lonliness.
Line by line, word by word I was transported to that street, that pool, that flag pole, that trampoline and most prominent of all….that porch.
Following this story and being part of all those moments that are now evident in the wonderful person that you have become, has been a joy and I thoroughly look forward to the next adventure.
God bless and thank you from the very depths of my heart.
Jane Two sincerely nestles a place within your heart. Flanery reveals his soul to the world with his affection, vitality, love, regret, pain and admiration for life. The story is an awakening force that shares with people the importance of love and the importance of life and actually living it to the upmost and taking nothing for granted. Live each day and shine your brightest until tomorrow. I was truly touched by this brilliance and this gift that Flanery has shared with all of us. Take the message you receive while reading this book and deliver it into your own lives. You won’t regret reading this story, if anything you’ll want to start all over again and smile as if you’re spending time with an old friend you used to know but would never forget and never could as long as you looked towards the sun.
Thank you for the kind words.
Sean this book shows your painful truths and has inspired me to become a better writer and share mine as well. Thank you.
Very glad… and flattered.
I’ve already told you, probably mulitple times, how much I love Jane Two, it’s truly amazing. If anyone deserves the love, adoration & support it’s you. Seeing you in Texas, you were beaming with pride, but you still stay so humble, because that’s who you are & I am SO happy for you. You’re so good to everyone but I wanted to thank you for being so good to me. I love doing FlaneryFever (even through all the ‘wtf’ moments) & loved doing all the vids, memes etc working up to Jane Two, and the trivia/chat…was so much fun, I really can’t thank you enough, you entertain all of my ideas even when you don’t have to. And my copy, I will treasure it forever. So…soak it all in, you deserve every bit of it & more. From the bottom of my heart and every Flanery fan’s heart out there….Thank you & Congratulations 🙂
Well, I appreciate everything. So, thank YOU!
I have now your book and it is wonderful. I looking forward me for you that your Book – Tour is so successful. Your book was really fast in Germany sold out. A Book – Tour would also successful here. 🙂 I wish you furthermore success with your book. Thank you Sean for everything. Shine…until tomorrow! ♥ God bless!!!
Are you coming to Tennessee any time before October? Even through that my Birthday month, but would like to meet you before that.
Not as of yet.
This book is wildly beautiful, it made me laugh hysterically but then moments later have me in tears. This book has made me feel things I didn’t know I could feel, everything about the book is absolutely phenomenal. I don’t even have words to accurately describe how wonderful this book is. Jane Two has become one of the best books I have ever read. You are a very very talented man, you write absolutely beautifully, and your writing brings out true emotion. I hope one day you come to upstate New York so I have the chance to meet you and attempt to tell you in person just how much I love this book.
I really appreciate the kind words.
Hey Sean! A bit late to the “You can do it!” party. I just finished reading your blogs and I feel like I’m shimmering with happiness inside and out. I’ve been thinking a lot about my life and decided to change it around. I am only 17 but I was very moved by many of the things you said. After I finished I took a long walk into the woods and was amazed at how differently I saw life. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge of the world with us, you’ve made a huge impact!
Very glad! And welcome!
Okay had to add this. Just finished Jane Two. I fucking cried and laughed and I swear my chest just about exploded when those two reactions seemed to bleed into eachother. It was very well done and I really enjoyed it. Was it hard writing about something like that? Did you have to sit down beforehand and write down everything you wanted included or did it just sort of flow out onto the pages? I’m asking because I’m attempting to write a short story and can’t seem to make things.. Flow. If that makes ANY sense. Do personal experiences make it easier or challenging?
I think all writing is relative to the person holding the pen.
Had to add this: I finished reading Jane Two and I’ve never wanted to cry, scream and laugh at the same time as much as this. It felt like my chest was expanding and was going to explode at the slightest movement! It was very well done and I don’t know if it means anything but I’m really proud of you! Was it easy writing about personal experiences and memories, or did you hit any snags that you had trouble dragging yourself through?
why didn’t it work until I posted it twice ;-; oh no!
It’s easy, then it’s hard, then it’s easy again, then hard, then impossible… then possible.
What time is your book signing in Nashville in October??? I still haven’t gotten your book but I’m hoping soon.
Not sure yet… but I’ll be there!
Hi Sean, im unable to work right now because of health issues but i read a free sample of your book on google play books Sadly its 13.99 and i dont have any money, but what little i did read i was hooked and i was wondering if there is any way at all i could get it free? i really hate to ask you that cuz i know you need to make a living. My dad doesnt have much longer to live on this earth and i really need your book right now close to me. thanks much love even if u say no, wish i had the opportunity to meet you
Reading this sweet ‘Coming of Age’ novel on the plane I found myself trying to stifle my tears one moment and laughing out loud the next. In other words: It’s earned a definite spot on a shelf of my bookcase. Thank You.
Very flattered. Thank you. -S
Hi Sean! I hope you are doing good. I was curious if you knew what day and time you will be at the Southern Festival of Books in Nashville, TN, Oct. 14-16, 2016. I see you on the list of authors but I can’t find a day/time for you. My sister and I will be driving from Cincinnati, OH and want to make sure we get to meet you. We wrote letters to you about your book that we want to give to you, thought that might help make sure you can see everyone who will be there to get their books signed. Thanks a bunch! -Casandra
I think most of each day at various places. Schedule should be available soon!
Sean this Saturday when you are here in Nashville how long will you be signing for? Would really love to meet you on Saturday.
Sorry… just got this!
Don’t know when you’ll see this, but happy birthday! It’s easy to remember, my birthday is today too! Have an awesome day c:
I just wanted to say I just finished reading the book, it was amazing. It made laugh cry, just a beautiful story. I really hope you will come to a con near me so I can meet you in person and you can sign it!!!
